University Library

The Library of „Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău was founded in 1961, the year of the foundation of the Pedagogical Institute of Bacău. It is a cultural academic institution with an encyclopedic character; it is continually developed, modernized, and updated in order to follow closely the major changes of the information era we are all witnessing.

As the library of the future is a virtual and specialized one, we are also following the general contemporary trend and we bear in mind the role and the functions that are incumbent with the definition of a library and that implicitely establish its place within the human knowledge system.
